Mackynen
The Mackynen climbing area is located 20 minutes from Sudbury heading south on Estaire Road, which is an exit of the new
Hwy 69. From the four corners head south on Hwy 69 for about 5 minutes and take the Estaire Road exit (the old hwy 69). Follow
this road for about 20 minutes until you pass over a set of train tracks. Mackynen road will be the
next road on your left, turn in and park. Mackynen consists of two climbing areas, one on the west side of the
Hwy 69 and the other on the east.
Mackynen East
From Mackynen Road, walk south along the hwy in the bush side of the creek, the overhanging small cliff 30 meters
down is the beginning of the bouldering area. The cliff band runs a few hundred meters east into the woods and
contains a wide array of problems. Stay south of the road, as the apparent plethora of bouldering opportunity on
the north side is private land, the owner of which apparently does not cater to climbers.
Mackynen West
From Mackynen Road cross hwy 69 and walk south until finding a spot to cross the ditch (preferably without
getting wet). Walk towards the valley to the west, keeping to the left to avoid the creek, where you will come across a boulder field of sorts.

back. If nothing else, it gives some idea of what's there. It's a pretty big file at 20MB or so, in wmv format.
