Killarney
Currently my information is that there is no rope climbing allowed within Killarney Provincial Park,
if found by the park rangers your climbing gear will apparently be confiscated. However, I have had no
issues bouldering in the park and the mix of granite, and quartzite rock provides some interesting climbing.
A large portion of the rock near the crack provides almost zero friction which makes for a unique climbing
experience. In the spring inquires will be made to clarify the no-roped climbing policy, because there are
some very large enticing looking cliffs in the park.
The climbed area of boulders at Killarney are located by the Crack. From Sudbury drive south on highway
69 for half an hour and turn right at the exit for Killarney. Drive for approximately 30 minutes until
reaching a parking area located a few hundred meters past the sign for the Park boundary. From the
parking lot, take the trail until you reach the crack(about a 30-40 minute hike), and roam around the surrounding
area looking for boulders. This area is great during bug season, the boulders are located on a hill which seems to
keep the mosquitoes that bite you on the whole way up the trail away.

Killarney Video - a very low budget homemade video of some bouldering we did
at Killarney a few years back. It's got music and everything, very high tech. It's about a 9MB file.
